ICGSM 11th EDITION SUPPORTERS

The Società Italiana Gallerie is an association that has been disseminating know-how in the field of tunnels and large underground works for 40 years. Established in 1974, it is an association with open cultural purposes which takes care of the promotion, coordination and dissemination of studies and research in the field and art of tunnel construction and large underground works.
Its activity is aimed at organizing conferences, congresses, courses, technical visits to the main construction sites of underground works under construction as well as the printing and dissemination of technical-scientific publications and the coordination of members' participation in international conferences.
There are currently over 800 members, representing bodies, public clients, universities, professional firms, engineering companies, general and specialized construction companies as well as the industrial sector of the sector.
It joins the ITA - International Tunneling Association - as a "Nation Member" representing Italy, participating with its delegates in the annual work of the assembly and in the activities of the working groups. On 27 April 2016, during the ITA General Assembly in San Francisco, the Società Italiana Gallerie won the bid to host the WTC 2019 in Naples which was then held from 3 to 9 May. the Congress entitled "Tunnels and Underground cities: engineering and innovation meet Archaeology, Architecture and Art" was an unforgettable technical and social event which saw more than 2700 participants from all over the world; 730 papers selected from more than 1000 abstracts received and 230 exhibitors.
