IcGSM, a worldwide event

After three successful editions involving more than 330 participants from 48 countries, also this year the course is ready to welcome a large number of participants from all over the world. As of today more than 20 nations and 4 continents are already represented.

Learning from challenging international projects

Several contributions about interesting topics on geotechnical and structural monitoring will be covered during the participants' presentations sessions.

Among the others, the following case studies will be presented:
rockfall monitoring from Italy to Norway, strain monitoring program for a pipeline in the US, monitoring of structures such as indoor arena and stadiums in Russia, rockfall hazard assessment on high-speed motorway.

Moreover, new trends and technologies will be presented such as:
Computer Vision and ground based radar system for landslide monitoring, geophysical methods for estimating the performance of dams, fiber optic sensing system for assessing the strain profile in precast concrete piles.

During the last day of the IcGSM, you will have the unique opportunity to take a walk through one of the most beautiful archaeological sites of the world, looking also in the field at the most advanced techniques for geotechnical and structural monitoring.
